BAP Young, Wild, and Free MV and Album Review

Yay! BAP is back, but they are still under the same label which is a little weird to me. It makes me wonder how everything was settled and what it means for their future. I don't think they would still be there if they weren't being treated well. It makes me think of what happened with Block B and how everyone was nervous for them because of all the baggage that they had as a group but BAP didn't (doesn't) have all those scandals so it makes me wonder if they had actually parted ways with their company if someone else would have picked them up. The entertainment industry, especially the Korean one it seems, is really rough.

BAP Where Are You? MV Review

How's the song? 

I began this post as a joint post about U-KISS and BAP since the songs were so vastly different but the public response was slightly similar and I actually began writing the post, but then I changed my mind. I felt that there was more to talk about in BAP's video because I could make fun of people more and I wouldn't have to take awkward screen shots either. You know what I'm talking about.

My K-pop Biases

Is it bad that I think that Valentines Day is a load of crap? Maybe I'm just jaded because I have never had anyone that I wanted to spend Valentines Day with, but I just generally think it is annoying. It's just another reason to spend unnecessary amounts of money on someone that you should be showing your love to all the time.

On that happy note, let's talk about my biases in K-pop groups! I like quite a few groups, but that doesn't mean that there is someone in that group that I like more than anyone else. For the people that I picked here, they are the ones that I can say without any doubt in my mind that they are my favorite person in their respective groups.

Heechul of Super Junior 

If you didn't see this coming, then there might be something wrong with you. Heechul is my ultimate male bias and he always will be. He's just so 4D and he's also very honest and that is something that is lacking in the entertainment industry. He can also keep a secret too because I'm pretty sure he has the dirt on every single famous person in Korea. With great power comes great responsibility?

Jaehyo of Block B

Oh, Jaehyo, so much ego, so little time, and so little respect given to you by your members. Maybe that is why I like him so much. He takes a lot of crap, but he can also give it back and a lot of the time he just seems to laugh it off.

I actually don't have a lot to say about Jaehyo, I just like him and that's the way it is.

Second place: PO and Taeil, they're a package deal, okay?

CNU of B1A4

CNU is another person that I don't have a specific reason for liking, I just like him. He sings, he raps, he writes music, he has magical hair, what's not to like? I also feel that he is the member that is the most done of all the members. All groups seem to have that one member who is laid back and just watches the insanity going on around him, and that member more often than not is CNU.

Second place: Baro

 Changsub of BTOB 

I started to get into BTOB after their song "Thriller". I wanted to know more about them and I found that they had done Diary which is a fantastic show and I wish that it was still happening. As I watched all the BTOB variety I could find I slowing began to fall for Changsub's quirkiness. He has a different look about him too with his perpetual I-just-woke-up face.

One of my favorite things about him is that he is very layered. You watch him on camera and he is such a weirdo, but then he sings and you just want to wrap yourself in his voice, but he also skateboards and plays the drums and has two tattoos.Who are you really, Changsub?

Second place: Peneil, PenJae is real.

Leo of VIXX

I think that anyone who says that they don't like Leo is a liar. Yes, he's quiet and he kind of puts off an I'm-going-to-kill-you vibe, but watching VIXX TV, and Diary you find........well......I guess he is kind of like that. Not all the time though!

Since he is always so quiet, it's a lovely treat when he does something unexpected like dancing, laughing (even though he always hides), or actually saying more than one word. 

Second place: Hongbin, that kid is so awkward, I love it. 

Himchan of BAP 

As I was creating this post I realized that I often fall for the most embarrassing member of the group. Maybe it's because they are funny and they stand out for that reason, but I often experience second hand embarrassment from those that I like.

Take Himchan for example, he can be the most self centered little turd and then he goes and says "What is hurricane in English?", "the loof is on fire",declares his love for "cheeju burgers", and is constantly talking about how good looking he is. He is one of those people that should never be allowed to open his mouth, but at the same time, we're glad that he does.

Side note, there needs to be a BAP sub-rock-unit that features Bang Yong Guk and Himchan. That has the possibility of being the most amazing thing ever.  

Tao of EXO 

I have come to find that sometimes when picking a bias, one day you just know. It was never a conscious decision, you just know one day and it felt right so you went with it. This is how I came to like Tao and sometimes I wonder about that decision.   

I have been watching EXO's reality show Showtime and more often than not, I am sometimes embarrassed to say that Tao is my favorite. When he isn't talking he looks really cool, but then he opens his mouth and it is all over. He's also really needy, but for some reason, I love it.  

Second place: Xuimin

V of BTS

So it wasn't until after I fell in love with this kid's strangeness that I found out he's totally jail bate. I probably should have knows though, I mean look at that face. At least I didn't decide I liked Jung Gook, that boy is practically still covered in amniotic fluids. Babies, all of them.

On BTS's Youtube channel thy post funny videos of the boys and if you haven't watched them you should because they will make your day better. Something that I have noticed about V is that in the videos, he is about 50% crazy and 50% judging his members. There doesn't seem to be any in between and I love it.

Second place: J-hope, he's V's partner in silliness.

So there is my list of my favorites. I guess since I don't have a real valentine I'll just pretend that they are my valentines. No, that's weird, I'll just go eat a cookie and call it good. Sounds like a plan.

BAP 1004(Angel) MV Review

 How's the song? 

Something that I like about BAP is that every time they they come out with a new song it has a new sound, but it is still very much BAP. This is probably because Bang Yong Guk writes or contributes to most of their songs which gives it that cohesiveness.

Weirdly enough, the beginning of the song where Bang Yong Guk is running through the elephant graveyard reminded me of the beginning of a HIM song. That is totally where is stops though since BAP and HIM are on completely different sides of the musical spectrum.

Something that I wish would happen more often in BAP songs is Himchan singing. I think that his voice is lovely and I want to hear it more. Sure it isn't kill-me-now-with-your-beauty like Daehyun's voice, but I like the huskiness of it. More of that please.

Speaking of singing, was Leader Bang singing in this? I love it when the rappers get to sing in groups. It's like a special treat when they sing because it almost never happens but I have come to find that almost all rappers in K-pop groups can also sing. They have a different sound than the main vocals and it adds something special to the songs to hear their raw voices rather than the "perfect" voices of those that usually sing. Not that those voices aren't wonderful though.

 Edit: False. That was not Leader Bang, that was Himchan. It sounds awesome either way.

How's the video?

This video was rather symbolic and I am always down for some symbolism.

In the video there are the members of BAP and a girl, or the "angel". She seems to be watching Daehyun as he walks through a house. The house is also conveniently placed on the magical table of product placement. 

Daehyun walks through the house and sees an old movie projector and the scene then cuts to a time presumably before Daehyun got to the house and Himchan is there.

As Daehyun continues to explore the things in the house he finds a mirror (Youngjae), a camera (Jongup, but why?), and a carousel (Zelo).

The three boys try to find their angel, but she is always out of reach or her back is turned to them. This also gives us one of the coolest shots of the video.

Daehyun continues to explore the house and finds the Cathedral that Bang Yong Guk digs up in the elephant graveyard. I guess this is an allusion to the angel theme of the song.

It's at this point where everyone starts loosing their crap and begin destroying the objects that are denying them access to their angel. For Himchan, unfortunately, that object seems to be himself.

After watching the video I want to know what Daehyun's role was in all of this. He is finding all the objects that represent the different members of BAP but he is not a part of that. It's more like he is waiting for something since he has that hour glass.

Then there is Bang Yong Guk who is in a different state that Zelo, Youngjae, and Jongup, and Himchan is totally in a world of his own. Is it significant that he is in the house? And how does Daehyun get there after? Did he defeat his demons in the end? Was that girl really an angel or was she darker than that? I don't remember a video making me ask this many questions since VIXX's "Hyde".

How's the styling?

The winner for best outfit of the video definitely goes to Youngjae.

The purple shirt and skinny tie with that fantastic coat is a triple threat. Pile that on top of the fact that he's singing in his Justin Timberlake room and generally looking like a boss is just extra.

Something that I'm not so sure about is Bang Yong Guk's hair.

I'm not really digging the bowl look. I also realize that I might have made some sort of strange pun there since he is digging a hole through most of the video. I also don't really like that it is in his eyes. It's not a horrible style, but it's not his best either.

Was the dance super amazing? 

I mentioned this in BAP's video "Hurricane", but can we please take another moment to stare in awe at Jongup and Zelo? Those boys can DANCE. People who can dance are amazing to me because I can learn a basic choreography, but to just go bust a move? No, that's never going to happen.  

 

The other intense dancing moment happens at about the 2:45 mark. It totally caught me by surprise too and I may or may not have started laughing when it happened. It was just so sudden. There I was floating on the beautiful sound of Daehyun's voice and then, suddenly, Jongup.

Which member owned it? 

Well, I love me some Himchan and he was the main character of the video, so he was definitely the one that I was paying the most attention to. 

He's also adorable. Look at that face.

Did the English make you ears bleed?  

I always look forward to Bang Yong Guk's English because it is kind of hit and miss. Even when he does get his English correct, his words are always a little slurred but it works for some reason. It's probably because his voice is amazing.

For example: in this video he starts by saying "I neeju". Of course he is saying "I need you" but in my head I was thinking "I kneed you" like kneeing someone in the face or something. This is what my mind does. I make no apologies.

The Hood

I was bored a while back and decided that I was going to look for all of the music videos that shot on the "ghetto" set that has become so prominent lately. After finding all of them, I thought that it might be fun to build a giant story around it. When I told Autumn about this, she said that if I were to actually write anything that I should call it "The Brohoho Diaries" after the character Mr. Brohoho from the videos from Eat Your Kimchi. I thought that that sounded like a pretty solid idea and I finally decided to post what I have written today.

Yay! Story time!

As many K-popers know, as much as idols like to pretend there is, there is no hood in Korea. That is not to say there is nothing bad in Korea, there is just nothing that equals to the hood that one might find in New York or California; that doesn’t stop these companies from pretending that there is one though. There is one specific area that many idols seem to frequent in their videos such as 2NE1, BAP, and now BTS. But what if this wasn’t a set, but an actual place that only idols knew about? They help create it and tear it down and make of it what they will.

2NE1 "Ugly" July 27, 2011

There once was a city that was put together by the broadcasting companies who were tired of overly sexual female K-pop idols. These companies were always receiving hate mail from fans for banning their favorite k-pop groups from TV, so they decided to do something about it. 

They created a city just for these pretty girls telling them that it would be a Utopia and that they could do whatever they wanted, all they had to do was come and live there. Little did these girls know that they were falling into a trap that would cost them their lives. 

2NE1 had heard about this massacre that had happened so many years before and they decided to go see what was left of the city in the hopes that maybe someone had survived. They went undercover, dressing in punk rock outfits with face masks to insure that they wouldn't be discovered by any enemies that might be in the area.
 

What they found was disaster. They didn't think that there was anyway that anyone could still be alive, but they continued onward, not wanting to miss anything by giving up.

As they continued in farther, they decided that it would be okay to reveal their identities and take their masks off. They also hoped that if anyone was following them, this would attract their attention and make them come out.

Unfortunately this plan didn't work so in a last attempt to attract attention, they held an impromptu concert on one of the stages that the broadcasting companies placed around the city for the pretty girls to perform on. 

With this also resulting in failure, the girls decided that it was time to head home. Maybe the horrific story of what the broadcasting companies did was really just a story and the area really was just a decrepit part of Korea. Something from the war maybe that had been forgotten. As they were leaving though, they found a large locked gate. CL was able to break the chain and then proceed in to see what was being locked up. 

When they entered the fenced off area, they found the surviving girls. They were all masked and standing at attention waiting for those who had enslaved them to come back. Luckily for them, 2NE1 were to ones to come for them.

After the celebration 2NE1 told all the girls that they should get some sleep so that they would be able to make it back to the YG studio where they would be able to find help. Everybody agreed to this and went to sleep anticipating the return to the city. While every was asleep though, 2NE1 crept out. 2NE1 had come in to the area to look for survivors, but their job was not to save but destroy anything that had been left.

The TV companies and 2NE1 thought that they had pulled off the mission seamlessly. No one on earth could have discovered what they had done. What they didn't anticipate was anyone from the outer reaches of the universe searching for some place they could land and call their home.

BAP Hurricane

 How's the song? 

After much stress and indecision, I have decided to write about BAP's new song. I really wanted to do it last week but I ended up choosing Xia. I like to write about what came out in the week that my posts are written so I probably should be writing about the new B2ST or f(x) song to keep with that goal, but to be perfectly honest, I'm not in love with the new f(x) song, and I don't know a lot about B2ST. Then on Monday, BEG came out with their new song and I was ready to erase everything that I had written and write about them, and I was also unimpressed. What the heck K-pop? 

I feel like a lot of the comebacks this year have been a little lack luster and BAP has been continuously hitting balls out of the park. That is not to say that I haven't found anything that I have liked this year, but I feel that a lot of these groups who have come back after a long absence aren't coming back with so much a bang as a.......pop? Like a firework that you expect to be amazing, but after it is done you say, that was it?  

This song is really strong from start to finish though and I feel like I could listen to it forever. It is just so upbeat and it makes you want to go do something that would allow to answer any question with "because we hurricane" like how "we naughty, naughty" is a legitimate answer to anything.

The only thing that I am not totally in love with is the bridge at about the 2:30 mark. It does give us the chance to see Zelo and Jongup to dance like the beasts that they are, but I feel like I was given musical whiplash from the sudden change. I have gotten used to it and I don't find it as jarring anymore, but I still don't completely love it.   

How's the video? 

The fact that BAP is utilizing the areas that they are in is a really good idea. It shows that they are interested in their global audience and it is always more exciting to see these idol groups interacting - and doing it well - with the outside world. Sure BAP isn't hanging out with any foreigners, but they are in these foreign areas.

While most of this video is spent on the strip and in a party bus, they also go to the desert which I thought was a cool idea. They are using all of the area that they are in instead of just the area that you expect them to use. It is also visually pleasing going from the assault on the senses strip and outfits to the barren desert and these black and white outfits.

 
To continue talking about the outfits in the areas there are in, the outfits are very complimentary to the sets. They have the gold outfits in front of the lit areas, the suits in the lounge room, and a more relaxed look in the party bus and while they are walking around. This is kind of the same thing that they did the in the "Coffee Shop" video with the coordinating outfits and the fell of the area. I know that all videos are like this, but I just feel like BAP is doing a really good job with it recently.

My last note I want to make is that these boys look happy. It seems like they are always working and bouncing from comeback to comeback, but in these videos you can tell they are doing what they want to do. It is always nice to be able to see that an artist is enjoying what they do because when people like what they do, they produce a better product. 

How's the styling? 

How wonderful do these boys look in their suits? Putting a guy in a suit may be one of the sexiest things ever. EVER!

Anyways, why does Zelo's hair look like that? It's like someone sheared a small sheep and then glued the wool to his head.

He is also wearing an outfit that a disturbed preschooler learning his alphabet would wear. There is just so much happening I don't know what to do.

Continuing along with the trend of questionable hair, I wasn't sure how I felt about Himchan's middle part at first. His teaser photo made me cringe and I was really hopping that it wouldn't be the same in the video, but it was. When he starting to sing though, I didn't mind it so much. What are these Jedi mind tricks you're playing on me Himchan?

Last week I mentioned that there has been a trend in music video sets with the pastel colored room, there has also been an accessory that has been popping up in male music videos recently and it is this hand bone bracelet/ring combo. In this video, Daehyun is the one who is wearing it. 

Other groups who have used it are BTS's Jung Gook in "No More Dream" and Infinte's L in "Destiny". There is also a pre-debut group called M.Pire - just what we need, another weird name - and one of the members is wearing one in the teaser.

Is the dance super amazing?

The only dancing part is during the bridge at the end and it is awesome. You really get to see how talented Zelo and Jungup are at this part. I don't think that pictures can fully capture how talented these boys are with everything that they do, so you should just go and watch it. 

Which member owned it?

This was definitely Daehyun's song. He rocked "Coffee Shop" with his sweet vocals and he rocked this song too, but in a different way. I think that I'm falling in love with him. He's just so adorable!

Unfortunately, because of Daehyun's beautiful voice, Himchan felt threatened. He didn't have very much time to become the star since they were filming at the time so he came up with a great idea. He then went to the director and demanded a car and said what might be one of the best Engrish lines of the year, "the loofah's on fire."

Does the English make your ears bleed? 

Oh man guys, hold onto your hats because this song is a freaking gold mine of Engrish, and not just the very obvious "the loofah's on fire." I think because of the amount of English in the song and the fact that all the members have quite a few lines I shall put on my teacher hat and give them a grade. I will grade on grammar and pronunciation who will fail and who will pass? 

Bang Yong Guk - A BYG would totally pass the class with what he put forward during his parts. They were pronounced well and made grammatical sense. He did say "chyea" though which prevented him from getting a A+.

Jongup- A Jongup also gets an A for his part. He has the least amount of English apart from Himchan, but he says his part flawlessly, but for some reason I just can't bring myself to give him an A+ either. I think that it's because he says "feelin' good tonight" without a subject. Yeah, I'm being picky, this is my classroom!

Youngjae - A- Youngjae would have received a solid A, but there was one part that he sang that really bugged me. He lists some countries in this order: Asia, US, Korea, Euro, South America. With the exception of the word "south" he said everything very well, but it was the syllable count that got me, "Asia" received three syllables and "Korea", while it did get three syllables, it was crushed into two beats. It's a little thing, but every time I hear it I just want to change they lyrics around.

Zelo - B As I mentioned in the Xia post last week I hate the word swag and another word that I hate only slightly less is YOLO and Zelo says that in this song. I had a few students I had this past year liked to say these two words and I told them if I ever saw them in writing, I would dock them points. Zelo, you have been docked points preventing him from getting an A.

Daehyun - B- The reason that Daehyun is getting a lower grade is because he is the leader of the chorus which should be "we're hurricane" or even better "we're a hurricane". Unfortunately all we get is "we hurricane" which I suppose could be passed off as gangster speak, but this is English class, not gangster class. 

Himchan - F This boy needs to retake the class. The first line he gets is "I wanna, Baby" and, yes, I know that there is a comma there, but it just makes me think that he wants a little baby. Then there is the grand daddy of all line, you know what I'm talking about.

TAHITI "Love Sick"

AA "Midnight Taxi" - So, according to comments, one of the members isn't in this video because his image didn't fit with the song. I find that extremely odd, but it's their companies choice. Other than that, I liked the song and video was a giant acid trip, that sounds like a win win to me.

Lee Yu Rim "Call My Name" - debut song, Wow there was a lot of cuteness in this video. It wasn't as cute as Heyne's "Dalla" but it was still pretty cute. She seems to know what her sound is too which is good for a rookie.

Say Yes "It Feels Good" - debut song, Yay for bands! I'm so glad to see that more are coming out. When I heard their song it did remind me a little of CN Blue, but they do have their own sound and I hope they do well because bands are totally underrepresented!

AOA Black "Moya" - I felt like I had been lied to when FT Island started playing, and then I realized that it wasn't FT Island, sad. I wasn't super impressed by the song though, it was okay, but it isn't something that I am going to remember for a long time.

Kim Hyun Joong "Your Story" - This is definitely a softer sound than "Unbreakable" and I really liked it. The video was also very soft and artsy but also very sexy with that woman that was getting some a lot of love from KHJ. Something that I think is funny is that KHJ is one of those artists that can't keep his shirt on, but he has worked hard for his body, so he would want to show it off.

Brown Eyed Girls "Kill Bill" - My first thought after finishing the video was "What the heck was that?" There is too much story and not enough song and the song isn't as bombastic and catchy as their previous songs. I'm kind of sad about this.

T-ara with Davichi "Bikini" - This isn't really a T-ara sounding song, but it is a nice summer song. I also liked that the majority of this video are the girls having fun at the beach. There are definitely some posing, but mostly it's them relaxing.  

5Dolls "Soulmate #1" - This song had this great 80s feel to it that made me want to get in a old care a film a driving scene for some teen romance. I also enjoyed all the mod outfits in the video and the switching from black and white to color.

QUEEN B'Z "Bad" - debut song, I really liked this song. Their vocals are unique because they all seem to have lower voices and it wasn't super cute and while it was sexy, it was powerful. The editor was a little heavy with the effects, but it kind of works for the feel of the video

Kang Seung Yoon "Wild and Young" - debut song, I'm totally in love with this right now. Kang has this cool rocker vibe and the bridge kind of reminds me of Cold Play, so I hope that this guy stays around.

Kim Greem "Just the two of Us" - This was sexy lounge music to accompany her sexy photo shoot, so it wasn't really for me.

VIXX "You're Impressive" - This song isn't as dark as "Hyde", this is definitely a more summer friendly sound, and it still fits them as a group, even if I don't like it quite as much.

K-pop Half Time Show 2013 Comebacks

It has been a busy year in the K-pop industry and there have been a lot of comebacks and a lot of debuts. With all of those songs there is going to be a lot of wonderful things happening, but there is always the chance of disappointment. When a fan is waiting for so long for their favorite group to come back, and when they do and you finish the video you just sit there thinking, that's what I've been waiting for? We will not be talking about those sad moments in K-pop though, these are some of the songs that we thought were the best ones that have come out this year. These are the songs that came and whispered sweet nothings to us and then proceeded to have a love affair with out eardrums.

Tiny-G "Minimanimo"

This was the first song that I heard from Tiny-G and I absolutely loved it. They are all just so petite looking, I just want to put them in my pocket and take care of them. I liked how they incorporated that into the video by making them appear like they were in a Honey I Shrunk the Kids movie. This song is crazy catchy and after I listened to it I was singing (or at least trying to sing) the chorus all day. It goes a little like "Nanananana Minimanimo" and repeat. Oh yeah, I'm good.

Rainbow "Sunshine"

This song is so fun, it was a nice addition to other summery type of songs that are coming out to welcome the season. Another reason why I liked it is because the girls are cute and sexy, but not to the point where I am uncomfortable watching the video, which is happening quiet often. The song and the video matched very well to create something lovely and happy. I talked about this song for a K-pop review so go read it if you want to know more about what I think.

Sunny Hill "Darling of all Hearts" 

I know that I recently talked about this song, but I really like the sound and the message it has. Sunny Hill is one of those groups that is really good but isn't one of those super top groups that people drool over, at least I don't think that they are..... am I wrong about this?

MBLAQ "Smoky Girl"

This song was so smooth and loungy sounding. It was pretty different from what they have done in the past and it was welcomed. The chorus was repetitive, but that can be forgiven because it was so good. I've already written a whole post about this, so let me direct you this way!

Sexiest suits in a music video award - Becca 

B1A4 "What's Happening?"

B1A4, how I love you are your craziness. This music video still creeps me out a little, but I have come to accept it, kind of, Baro still murdered Ken. This song was so funny and strange and it did really well in the combining of different song sounds into one giant song. I hope that they can get more recognition because they are quite talented. I also wrote about this song and created my own tragic story to go along with it, what do you think?

BAP "One Shot"

Becca chose this video, but to be perfectly honest, it didn't really do it for me. Not that it is a bad song, I just wasn't really feeling it. I have the same issue with "Power" it's an okay song, but far from my favorite thing BAP has put out. I am in love with BAP's new song "Coffee Shop" though, so that is definitely my favorite BAP song of the year thus far.

You know why the girl is mad at Ren in the video? It's because he's prettier than her. That girl got some serious Nu'est action though, holy crap. I'm not really a fan of Nu'est, even though this song is quite good. I'll just leave this one for Becca.

BAP Coffee Shop

 How's the song?

I was totally planning on doing Roy Kim's "Love Love Love" this week because I have totally fallen in love with him, forgetting that BAP was coming out with this song. I am not always a fan of BAP's sound so I was waiting for these songs to have a battle to the death. I figured that Roy Kim would either bludgeon them with his guitar or BAP would go all "Warrior" on him and my problems would be solved. Unfortunately, these songs decided to be friends and mock my indecision and love for both of them.

I then decided the ask for aid from my friends who ignored my request to help me choose, so here I am writing two posts because I can't smack people that are 1000+ miles away from me. Hey science, get to work on aparation, okay? Since I was hoping for help I waited to write these and now I have half as much time as usual two write two posts. Thanks guys.........Expect for Mindy, but she decided to be helpful on Tuesday and that is way too late.

Anyways, jazzy piano music, yay! Then a drum set comes in and beautiful sounds commence to come out of my computer with the added voices of BAP. This song is so far removed from anything that they have done and they nail it. This song is just so smooth and very cohesive. The lyrics match the sound, which matches with the video, it's just kind of perfect. 

How's the video? 

Everything was very complimentary in this video. The whole concept was very relaxed even though it was shot in these big cities cities. I don't think that the feel of the song would have been as powerful if they had been in rooms because the lyrics are talking about how everything is moving, but they fell like they are stuck in the same place. What better way to covey that then putting them in these cities that never sleep?

One of my favorite shots in the video is at the end when the guys are all meeting at a coffee shop. It just looks so natural. It doesn't look painful and staged like some other "let's break out of the video box and pretend to be normal" videos. That's right B2ST, I'm looking at you. If I was in San Francisco and saw them all sitting outside of a coffee shop, besides the fact that I would probably think "gorgeous men alert!", I would just go about my business. 

Something else that I thought was funny, at least to me, when I was watching the video I kept thinking, look at all those real life props! We have real life street signs

And what K-pop video would be complete without a brick room? But the probability of this one being a real brick room is quite high

One last thing that I want to mention is the book that YoungJae is reading on the beach.

1) It's in English and I'm pretty sure that no one in BAP speaks English, especially enough to read a book.
2) Why the heck are you reading The Five People You Meet in Heaven? Is this just a continuation of the hipster feel, but that's super random.
3) I don't have a third issue, but I feel like there should be three things written down.

How's the styling?

Instead of just using the group shots of BAP I really wanted to use all of their individual shots because the shots are all so freaking artsy fartsy.   

YoungJae, dude, why are you wearing not one, but two, floppy women's hats? I know that you guys are all going for the hipster vibe, but that's not cute. I love the picture on the top right though. I would totally wear that, I don't even care that they are boy clothes, they look really comfortable and I am always down for a good sweater. 

Now for Zelo. A recent trend that I have seen in K-pop is the clothing brand FUKK. The first time that I saw it was in the BTS dance practice video, and here is it again in the top left picture. I thought that maybe this was by the same person who made the swear hats that Girls' Generation wore in the "I Got a Boy" video, but no, this is just another person making rude clothes. Other than that, the only other outfit I'm not totally sold on is the bottom left one. The beanie and those distressed jeans are just not doing it for me.  

Leader Bang! I have some mixed feelings on his outfits. Something that I have noticed about foreign people is they like to wear American flag pattered clothes which I think is a little odd. Shouldn't they wear clothes with their own flag on it or is that something that is not okay to do? The outfit that is my least favorite is the bottom left one. I don't like that big shirt with the skinny jeans. It makes him look short and top heavy, which he totally isn't. 

Daehyun is the only person who I have no issues with. I like his hair, I like his clothes, and he sings like an angel. Darn you, Daehyun! Why are you so perfect!

Besides the fact that I don't like the whole hair in the face look he's rocking on the bottom left, I really like all of Himchan's outfits. He's also my favorite member, so there. My favorite outfit is the top left one because, as I've stated before, I really like sweaters and I like how relaxed looking it is.

I think that Jongup had some of the coolest pants in this video but they were either out of the shot, top right, or really far away, bottom left. The pants on the top right look like a paisley explosion and I want to experience the full effect of them. I guess I will never know if they are fabulous of hideous, dang. I am also loving his hair. I wouldn't be sad if his hair was like this forever. 

Was the dance super amazing?  

No dance here, just walking and sitting and looking cool.

Who owned it? 

This song was very evenly divided which I liked because much of the time Bang Yong Guk and Zelo tend to be the stars of the show since BAP is predominantly a rap group. This song was definitely more suited for the singers though and if I had to pick someone as number one in the video, it would be Daehyun. Those high notes that he hit were so clear and beautiful; he was definitely in his element with this song. 

Did the English make your ears bleed?

The English was really good in this song. All the English words and phrases were used in context and the pronunciation was awesome. Especially Daehyun's because he had to say "coffee shop" and "coffee" in Korean sounds a lot like "copy" in English. He nailed it though which brought an added smoothness I feel because an "f" sound is a lot smoother than a "p" sound.
